Passing the Torch at Lakewood Schools

Bid farewell to Kate Foley, and welcome Christie Palumbo as the district's new director of student services.

After five years with the , Dr. Kate Foley has decided to move on and take up a new post as the assistant superintendent of the Naperville, Illinois school district.

She'll be replaced by Dr. Christine Palumbo, who is eager to make her return to Lakewood. She began her career with the district as a special education teacher in 1992 before moving onto North Ridgeville where she supervised special ed K-12+.

As director of student services, some of Palumbo's main responsibilities will include directing pupil services programs, overseeing all special ed programs, analyzing data to improve student achievement and representing the district as liaison with state and local agencies
