Progressive Caucus Endorses Jeff Wise for Lakewood City Council
The Cuyahoga County Progressive Caucus announces its support for Lakewood City Council Ward 3 Candidate Jeff Wise

Lakewood, OH - When Cuyahoga County Progressive Caucus (CCPC) members voted on their endorsements for the upcoming municipal elections in Lakewood, it was no surprise that Jeff Wise received their support in Ward 3. As fellow grassroots leaders, the CCPC supported candidates that demonstrated a longstanding dedication to progressive ideals and positive reforms.
Wise recognized CCPC's good work on a number of issues. He highlighted the group's involvement with Cleveland Lead Advocates for Safe Housing which seeks to end lead poisoning in the region, advocacy against partisan gerrymandering, and their organizing efforts in support of universal health care and a $15 minimum wage as all vitally important initiatives that he also supports.
“Lakewood residents have been a big part of these efforts,” Wise says. “This endorsement demonstrates that I am the candidate who will champion progressive values, with real policy reforms to unite and improve our city.”

CCPC’s action-based advocacy model aligns closely with Wise’s mission to be active on City Council. As the next Ward 3 council person, he will prioritize the reduction of job losses, reducing poverty, sustainability initiatives including preservation of the city's tree canopy, and advocacy for responsible redevelopment.
Inaction and complacency is not present in Wise’s record. His avid work on progressive policies was clear during his time as a student leader at Ashland University and as an aide at the Ohio Statehouse, where he developed an interest in the legislative process and helped Lakewood residents solve their state government issues.
