Arrow Riddled Rabbits Spotted Around Lakewood
Police said at least two calls came in about a rabbit with an arrow in its body being seen around the city. It could be multiple rabbits.

LAKEWOOD, OH — Callers have reported seeing a rabbit with an arrow in its ear or neck over the past few days, according to police records. It is currently unclear if residents are seeing the same animal, a Lakewood Police spokesperson told Patch.
Captain Edward Hassing of Lakewood Police said the two calls are "not normal" for police, and don't appear to be crank calls. "Officers and Animal Control checked the area for the rabbit and could not find it," he told Patch.
Both sightings occurred around St. Edward High School. It appears residents saw the rabbit, or rabbits, on consecutive days.

The second sighting came a day later, on July 7, on Clarence Avenue, near St. Edward High School. A resident there told police that a rabbit with an arrow in its body was hopping around across the street. They said the arrow appeared to be in the animal's neck.

It's not yet clear if the residents saw the same animal or if multiple rabbits have been shot with arrows. "The other call may be the same animal," Hassing said.
If a resident does spot the rabbit, they should contact the Lakewood Animal Control Department at 216-529-5020.
