Rangers Girls XC Team Finishes 3rd

     The Lakewood High School Girls Cross Country team battled to a third place team finish on Saturday Oct. 12th in the West Shore Conference Championship Meet. The Rangers finished with 76 points behind Rocky River - 48 points and WSC Team Champions Bay Village - 24 points. 
     Finishing with 1st Team All West Shore Conference honors was Senior Maeve Christie. Maeve led the Rangers with her 7th place finish in a PR time of 19:46. Seniors Alyssa Hasman, who finished 13th in a PR 20:09 and Grace Latham who ran 20:12 and finished 14th were named 2nd Team All West Shore Conference. Seniors Yasmeen Shafik finished in 22nd place in a PR 20:50 and Gabby Wise running a PR 21:01 finishing 24th. Shafik and Wise were awarded All WSC Honorable Mention. Also competing for the Rangers were Freshman Olivia Rodriguez in a PR 21:02 in 22nd place and Senior Anna Riddle finishing 23rd in a PR 21:03.
     The Rangers will run in the Div. 1 District Race at Lorain County Community College at 1:45pm on Sat. Oct. 19.
