School Supplies Drive Aids Lakewood Students

Help students in the Lakewood Schools get all the school supplies they need to be successful.

LAKEWOOD, OH — School supplies are a fundamental part of student success, but some students in Lakewood aren't able to afford all of the necessary supplies. That's where the Supplies 4 Success comes in. The campaign aims to help students and their families ease the financial burden of providing all the school supplies a student needs.

According to the Lakewood School District's website, the program has supported more than 500 students in the district. The program was started six years ago.

Collection of supplies will continue through Aug. 15. This year, Supplies 4 Success is asking for donations of:

  • Pocket folders
  • Notebooks
  • Scissors
  • Pens and pencils
  • Markers
  • Tape and glue
  • Index cards/Post-it notes
  • Pencil boxes or pouches
  • Dividers
  • 3-ring binders
  • Colored pencils
  • Highlighters
  • Erasers

The district has been able to create supply closets in all school buildings using donations from Supplies 4 Success. The district has also been able to build a calculator library at the high school for students to take advantage of.

The Parent Resource Coordinator or Guidance Counselor in each school building will be able to dole out supplies to students, as needed, at the beginning of the school year.
