Shachner is the Best Choice for Ward 2

Jason has the experience to effectively and thoughtfully advocate for the residents of Ward 2.

Jason Shachner is running to be our next Lakewood Ward 2 City Councilperson and he will be awesome! Jason and his wife, Michelle Murray, are wonderful people - civic-minded and hard-working. They own a house on Cook Avenue, north of Detroit. They are both attorneys and met as students at Case Western Reserve University School of Law. He and Michelle truly love Lakewood and have contributed to making it a better place for all of us.

I have gotten to know Jason well and I must say he never ceases to amaze me. He is one of the people who sincerely care about others and wants to provide opportunities to make it easier for everyone to succeed in life. Jason is honest and open, a man of integrity. He is pleasant and approachable, friendly and easy to talk to. He is intelligent and thoughtful. Even though he has a college degree and a law degree, he has a thirst for knowledge and a natural curiosity that compels him to continuously study and learn about every aspect of our lives on this planet and in this city and is always considering ways for improvement.

On evenings and weekends since February, Jason has been going door-to-door in Ward 2 to introduce himself as a candidate for city council and to learn the concerns of residents. Jason believes Lakewood is an excellent place to live and wants to be our representative in city government to assure the city continues to thrive in the years to come.

Jason has a vision of Lakewood as a destination. A place where kids can grow up in a safe neighborhood, attend great schools, and play in safe and well-kept parks with many recreational opportunities. He has ideas for housing options that would allow seniors to stay in the homes they own, make it easier for young families to afford good housing, and offer the opportunities and amenities to attract entrepreneurs and small business owners.

I’ve been a resident of Lakewood Ward 2 for over half-a-century. Our children are fourth generation residents and graduates of LHS. We’re not going anywhere! Neither are our family members, neighbors and friends. We look forward, expectantly and hopefully, to the continued evolution of a great town, brought forward by such talented Lakewoodites as Jason Shachner.

I ask Ward 2 voters to please take the opportunity to do all of Lakewood a great favor by voting for Jason Shachner on Tuesday, November 5, 2019. I predict you will be glad you did!
