Sidewalk Improvement Program Begins Again In Lakewood
City officials said they are targeting three sections of the city for sidewalk improvements this year.

LAKEWOOD, OH - Work on the sidewalks in three sections of the city will commence this summer. Lakewood officials said they are first focusing on streets near W. 117th and Franklin.
Once work is completed on the streets near W. 117th and Franklin, attention will be turned to the streets between Belle Avenue and Andrews Avenue, around the Norfolk Southern railroad line.
Residents in the three sectors of Lakewood being targeted for sidewalk improvements can do one of two things: pay to have the sidewalks fixed themselves or take part in a citywide bid with the city's contractor.

"Lakewood is one of most pedestrian-friendly cities in the Midwest.” said Mayor Michael Summers. “The Sidewalk Improvement Program is a major component of ensuring Lakewood’s walkability, and has led to significant improvement of our walkways since 2013. It is critical that our sidewalks be as safe as they can be and accommodating for bikes, strollers and wheelchairs.”
