SR 2 Construction Delayed To Friday Night

The project will still last through fall 2018, the Ohio Department of Transportation said.

CLEVELAND, OH — Work on State Route 2 that was set to start Thursday night was delayed to Friday night. The bridge will be closed overnight on Friday. A single lane of traffic will then be closed, in both directions, between W. 28th Street and First Energy Stadium. On top of that regular closure, additional closings will be needed based on what construction is being done.

From April 16 through April 20, crews will close all lanes of SR 2 west between W. 28th Street and the stadium from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. Crews will be installing a portable concrete barier.

From April 10 through late May, the right lane on SR 2 west and west will be closed, for phase one of the project. For phase two, which runs from late May through early July, the middle lane will be closed. Finally, from early July through late August, the left lane will be closed. All lane closures will be between W. 28th and First Energy Stadium.

As always, the construction plan is weather permitting. So things could take longer than currently projected.
