LAKEWOOD, OH — Revenge is a dish best served cold and St. Edward's 21-19 victory over St. Ignatius on November 2 was freezing. On Friday, the Eagles will have a chance to serve another fresh-from-the-freezer meal.
In the opening week of the 2018-2019 season, St. Ed's football was beaten 42-39 by the Mentor Cardinals. On Friday, the two teams will lock horns again.

The Eagles came into the playoffs as the seventh seed in their bracket. They lost three games during the regular season: once to St. Ignatius, once to Cass Technical (from Detroit), and once to Mentor.
The Mentor Cardinals are the No. 1 seed in this region of the Division I playoffs. They hold a record of 11-1. They may have beaten St. Ed's 42-39 to open the season, but that game was played in Mentor. The regional semifinal will be played at a neutral site — so throw out that home field advantage.

Mentor bounced McKinley High on Friday to setup the rematch. The Cardinals are on their own warpath, hoping to avenge their loss last year in the state championship game. Mentor was rolled in the final of the playoffs in 2017, losing 56-28 to Pickerington Central.
The revenge game will be pretty cheap to watch. Tickets for Friday's game are $8 pre-sale, and $9 at the gate. If you can't make the game, Patch will provide live updates of the score during the evening.
