St. Edward Football to Play St. Ignatius in Regional Championship Game
The Eagles defeated Stow-Munroe Falls in the semifinal game.

LAKEWOOD, OH - It's Northeast Ohio's most famous high school football game, St. Edward vs St. Ignatius. For the Eagles, the game represents a shot at redemption after they lost to the Wildcats earlier in the season. For Ignatius, the game is a chance to asserts it football dominance in the region.
St. Edward dispatched Stow-Munroe Falls on Friday, winning a tight 41-36 game. Ignatius handed number one ranked Solon an early exit, winning 31-17 that same day. Now the two teams will square off in the Regional Final on Friday at Bedford Bearcat Stadium.
The two rivals have met in the playoffs twice before, once in 2008 and once in 2011. Ignatius won both contests.

Because St. Ignatius unseated number one ranked Solon, the Wildcats will be considered the home team on Friday. The action will start at 7:30 p.m.
The regular season match-up between these two teams did not go well for St. Ed's. The Eagles were, at that point, ranked number one in Division 1, Region 1. They carried a lot of momentum into their final rivalry game but ended up losing 34-7. That was Oct. 29. On Nov. 18 the boys from Lakewood will have their chance at redemption.
