St. Edward Hockey Ranked 6th In State
The second hockey coaches poll of the season sees the Eagles ranked 6th in Ohio.

LAKEWOOD, OH — The St. Edward Eagles hockey team is currently ranked sixth in the state by the Ohio High School Ice Hockey State Coaches Poll. Rival St. Ignatius was ranked as the best team in the state, getting eight first place votes and 80 total votes.
The Eagles fell three spots from the first coaches poll of the season, which saw the team ranked third in the state. Ignatius was also ranked as the best team in the state in that poll, as well.
St. Ed's has been playing tournament hockey during the opening weeks of the season, including match-ups against fellow state-ranked team Olentangy Liberty (twice). The Eagles also won the Father Tony McNamara Tournament in St. Catharine’s, Ontario. The Eagles went 5-1 in the tournament and were 7-6 on the season on Dec. 10.

Senior Andrew Tomer was also named Great Lakes Player of the Week on Dec. 5 after he scored two goals against Holy Name.
