'Starry Night' Set to Rock Downtown Lakewood in August
The annual Lakewood Hospital street party will benefit diabetes research and feature plenty of food, entertainment, a mix of rock 'n roll and a silent auction.

The street party will run from 7 to 10 p.m. near Belle and Detroit avenues where folks will enjoy traditional and gourmet fare, entertainment, an eclectic mix of rock music and a silent auction.
And this year, the crowd will be led by TV personality Monica Robins who will serve as the mistress of ceremonies.

“Because the Diabetes Assistance Initiative is funded only through philanthropy, support of efforts such as Starry Night is crucial, and presents a wonderful opportunity to help in improving the health and life potential of diabetes patients struggling to manage their disease and afford basic survival needs while challenged with limited financial resources,” LHF executive director Kristin Broadbent said.
All proceeds from the twilight bash will benefit the Diabetes Assistance Initiative – a program of the Lakewood Hospital Diabetes and Endocrine Center.

“Our ongoing work offers great promise but only with additional funding can that promise be fulfilled for those most in need of services," Broadbent said.
Tickets are selling anywhere from $100 to $125 and sponsorships for the event range from $1,500 to $5,000.
Those interested are encouraged to RSVP by July 22.
