Statement from Mayor George Regarding Madison Park Basketball Courts

During the ongoing investigation of the recent incident at Madison Park, the Lakewood Police Department has recommended that the basketball court be temporarily closed. Mayor Meghan F. George added, “While we understand the importance to the community that our basketball courts serve as wonderful recreational outlets, my obligation as Safety Director is to ensure a safe environment for all patrons of the park. We look forward to reopening the court as soon as possible.”
