LAKEWOOD, OH — Police found a suspected crack pipe in the car of two people they took into custody on July 6. Both suspects had warrants for their arrests in other cities, leading to them being arrested and transferred to those police departments.

Officers stopped a car on Detroit Avenue, near Nicholson Avenue at about 2:20 a.m. Captain Edward Hassing of Lakewood Police said the vehicle was stopped for an equipment violation.

Two people were inside the stopped car — a 25-year-old Cleveland man and a 19-year-old Lakewood woman. The Clevelander was wanted in Parma for drug abuse, and the Lakewood woman was wanted in Brook Park, but it's not clear what the warrant for her arrest was for. Police took the duo into custody.
