Thelma Fryer, 91, Beloved Wife, Mother and Sister

After battling a lengthy illness, Fryer passed away on Wednesday, Jan. 18.

Thelma Ruth Fryer, 91, Lakewood, passed away on Jan. 18 at Amherst Manor Nursing Home after a lengthy illness.

Fryer was born in Fallentimber, PA, was a graduate of Spangler High School and earned a degree from Cambria Rowe Business School in Johnstown, PA.

She was the beloved wife of the late Walter H. Fryer, according to Busch Funeral and Crematory Services.

Thelma was a member of Ann Rutledge Chapter #453, a past Matron of Lincoln Chapter #309 and a past Worthy High Priestess of Lakewood White Shrine #26. Her favorite pastimes included Bingo, Scrabble and playing card games.

She is survived by her two daughters, Bonnie Jean of Vermilion and Ruth Ann Fryer of Sheffield Lake; granddaughters Kimberly K. Roberts of Avon and Deborah R. Luster of Lakewood; great-grandchildren Christopher, Ryan and Lindsay Roberts and Alexander and Adam Luster; sister-in-laws Agnes Fryer, Betty Fryer, Lou Ann Ross and Patricia Thompson; and her long time companion Lester Hough, with whom she shared many good times.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Harriet Kuhn, her sisters, Fedora Cavaner and Juanita Gamly and her brothers, Clarence, Charles and Clifford Kuhn.

The memorial service will be held on Sunday, Jan. 22 at 3 p.m at the Busch Funeral Home, located at 21369 Center Ridge Rd. in Fairview Park.

Friends may call at the Busch Funeral Home on Sunday from 1-3 p.m. The burial will be private.
