Thieves Stealing Tires From Lakewood Cars

Over the past seven days, a thief or thieves have been snatching tires and wheels on Honda vehicles in Lakewood.

LAKEWOOD, OH — Over the past week, five vehicles have had their wheels and tires stolen in Lakewood. The vehicles have been left propped on paving stones. The first incident was reported Aug. 8 and the most recent theft was reported Aug. 14.

The thief or thieves appear to be targeting Honda vehicles. Four Accords and one Civic have had their wheels and tires stolen. All the thefts took place between 3 p.m. and 10 a.m.

Four of the five vehicles were parked on the street at the time of the thefts. Police say a dark colored SUV was seen in the area of one of the thefts.

The thefts took place on Emily Avenue, Lincoln Avenue, Riverside Drive and Bayes Avenue. Two incidents were reported on Lincoln. (Subscribe to the Patch Lakewood newsletter for local news and updates.)

"If anyone sees anyone tampering with their vehicle or their neighbors please contact your police department as soon as possible," says Captain Ed Hassing of Lakewood Police.

The cases are currently under investigation. If anyone has information on the incidents, they are asked to contact the Lakewood Police Department at 216-521-6773.
