Threat Made Toward Lakewood High, Person In Custody
Over the weekend, police discovered a threat made toward Lakewood High School on social media.

LAKEWOOD, OH — A threat was made toward Lakewood High School over the weekend. Police have taken one person into custody for posting the threat, school district officials said in a statement.
The threat was made on Snapchat on Saturday. The FBI identified the threat and made Lakewood police and school officials aware of the message.
Police were able to trace the threat to a former Lakewood High student. That person was taken into custody, Superintendent Michael Barnes said in a statement.

A Lakewood police spokesperson said the suspect is a 21-year-old man. He has not been formally charged, the spokesperson said.
"Thanks to the Lakewood Police Department for their outstanding work. Parents and students, it is critical that if you see or hear something, you say something. We must all work together to keep our students and staff safe," Barnes said.

This is the second threat made towards a Lakewood-based school in less than a week. St. Edward High had to be evacuated on September 13 after a threat was discovered. The school was cleared and classes have resumed on a normal schedule.
