"This is a major event for our community as it marks the completion of our Facilities Master Plan that has been more than a decade in the making," said Superintendent Jeff Patterson in an email to Patch in May. "It is a chance to thank our community for the amazing support it has shown these many years through the passage of the bond issues that made the rebuilding and renovation of our 10 schools possible. It truly is a milestone for all of us to celebrate!"

While the celebration of the high school's east wing goes on, construction in the district may continue. Patterson recently introduced a proposal that would turn the north lot into a multi-purpose athletic field. A request for bids has gone out and the Board of Education will soon decide on a contractor for the project. Read more about that project here.
