Victory Fridges Don't Open For Ties, Sorry Cleveland

Cleveland Browns fans didn't know how to feel after Sunday's game. Free beer wasn't there to comfort them.

LAKEWOOD, OH — No one thought the Cleveland Browns' infamous losing streak would come to a close in a tied overtime game, amid botched field goals. Still, a 21-21 tie game isn't a loss...but it isn't a win either. Just ask Bud Light.

After installing so-called "Victory Fridges" at bars across the city, Browns faithful were promised free beer when (and if) Cleveland managed to secure its first victory in years. When the team's losing streak ended Sunday, some fans thought the fridges would swing open.

They did not. The fridges remain locked up.

"Cleveland. You fought hard. Unfortunately, the only opens with a W. But after that game, we doubt they'll stay locked for long," Bud Light said on social media, to the dismay of thirsty fans in Lakewood and Cleveland.

The Browns will have a chance to open those fridges for real on Sunday, when they travel to New Orleans to play the Saints. That game will start at 1 p.m. The fridges will be open by 4:30 p.m. (we hope).
