Swearing-in ceremony, first Council Meeting, and upcoming events!

Swearing-in Ceremony and First Council Meeting

Last Monday was the culmination of a long campaign season. I had the honor of being sworn into office by the Honorable Patrick Carroll, with my biggest supporter and best friend, my wife Michelle, at my side. I would like to thank all my friends and supporters that took the time out of their evenings to attend. I would not be here without you.

The first Council Meeting of the year immediately followed the ceremony. Councilmember Dan O’Malley was elected President of Council and Councilmember John Litten was elected Vice President of Council. Congratulations!

Three items of note were discussed and referred to the Committee of the Whole. The first two items are Mayor George’s appointments of Brian Corrigan and Roman Ducu to the positions of Director of Law and Director of Public Works, respectively. The third is the purchase agreement for the Trinity Church site by Scalish Construction LLC. These items, along with other matters, will be discussed in detail at the Committee of the Whole Meeting, which will take place on Monday, January 13 at 6:00PM in the Auditorium.

I commend Frank Scalish and his company for taking on the challenge of transforming the Trinity Church property. Mr. Scalish is willing to not only invest in Lakewood, but also move his headquarters into the finished product. I look forward to learning more about the project in the upcoming Committee of the Whole Meeting.
