Viewfinder: Ohio Chautauqua Kicks Off in Lakewood
Event, presented by the Ohio Humanities Council, launches Wednesday with several activities around town. Programs run through Sunday.
Ohio Chautauqua kicked off its 2011 traveling show in Lakewood today.
This year’s will commemorate the 150th anniversary of the Civil War in a five-day event that will include a lineup of interactive workshops and engaging first-person historical characterizations.
In-character Ilene Evans was one of the attractions Wednesday as she potrayed heroin Harriet Tubman before a crowd of some 200 visitors under the tent during the first of the five-day event.
