Windows Shot Out, Damaged At Lakewood Tattoo Shop

The business was twice targeted by someone with a BB gun over the weekend.

LAKEWOOD, OH — Windows at Lakewood Electric Tattoo were shot at and damaged by a BB gun over the weekend, the store's owner told Patch. The shop's east side window was broken out and is currently being covered by a wood board, the main windows may also need to be removed and replaced.

Despite the attacks on his business, shop owner Chuck Uhler is glad to be part of the Lakewood community. He was resolute that his business wouldn't be impacted by bullying and vandalism.

"We’re not going anywhere. A couple of broken windows are a pain, but we’re not going anywhere," he said.

The tattoo shop was actually attacked with a BB gun twice over the weekend. The first incident happened early on Friday morning, between 1 a.m. and 4 a.m., according to Uhler.

Someone managed to hit the east window with several BB pellets, knocking the window out. Lakewood Police noticed the damage and stood guard until Uhler could arrive at the scene.

The shop was hit again on early Sunday morning. The main windows were hit by several BB pellets, which caused damage to the large, front facing glass. Uhler said the main windows may have to be replaced, though he isn't sure yet.

Police are investigating the incident, Uhler said. There are several leads that the department is following up on.

Despite the two attacks on his business, Uhler said he has felt the support of the local community. Resident neighbors and surrounding businesses have been quick to reach out with kind words and share his social media posts.

"The community as a whole has not given us any negative feedback," he told Patch. "It’s been mostly good things, and people that want to check it out. They're glad something’s here. The people that live in the area like that we’re here."

Anyone with information on these incidents should contact Lakewood Police at (216) 521-6773.
