Woman Says She Was Attacked, Raped In Edgewater Park

CLEVELAND — A Cleveland man is accused of raping a woman in Edgewater Park. Ambus Shepherd Jr., 26, faces charges for rape, felonious assault and kidnapping.

Cleveland Metroparks officers found a woman bloody and beaten in the park on Dec. 28, according to cleveland.com. The woman told police Shepherd hit her in the head with a rock and raped her at the park's dog beach.

A bloody rock, with a clump of the woman's hair, was found at the park, police said. The woman is in the hospital.

Shepherd was taken into custody on Friday afternoon by Cleveland Metropark officers, according to Fox 8.
