Lorain woman paying thousands after tree from abandoned neighboring yard falls onto property (cleveland19.com) — A Lorain homeowner says she's facing more than $10,000 in costs after a massive oak tree from a long-abandoned neighboring property crashed into her yard, destroying her fence. After months of unanswered pleas to the City of Lorain about dangerous trees on the condemned lot, she's now seeking clearer help and accountability while paying to prevent similar problems on her own property.
2. Democratic Central Committee names Ricardo Soto replacement Lorain treasurer (chroniclet.com) — Lorain residents have a new interim city treasurer, as Ricardo Soto was unanimously chosen by the Democratic Central Committee and sworn in by a Lorain Municipal judge. 3. Northeast Ohio measles outbreak has thus far eluded Lorain County (chroniclet.com) — Lorain County health officials report there are still no confirmed measles cases locally, even as more than 100 cases have been recorded across Ohio and thousands nationwide.
