The 2021 Citywide Asphalt Paving Project To Begin Soon

Contractors will be out later this week to begin ADA ramp and curb & gutter reconstruction in Marietta

MARIETTA, OH — The Engineering Department for the City of Marietta issued a press release concerning the Citywide Asphalt paving project that kicks off on Thursday, July 15. It's set to wrap up by Friday, July 28. Milling and paving will follow immediately, which should be finished sometime mid-August.

NLS Paving is the contractor for the 2021 Citywide Asphalt Resurfacing and ADA Curb Ramps Project. Construction of ADA ramps, sidewalk replacement, and curb & gutter replacement will begin Thursday, July 15th, and be completed Wednesday, July 28th, weather permitting. Milling and paving will begin Wednesday, July 21st, and finish Friday, July 30th, weather permitting. Additional work, project cleanup, and pavement markings will be performed in the month of August, weather permitting.

The following are streets that will have ADA ramps/sidewalks installed as part of the 2021 Asphalt Resurfacing Project:

Spring Street at the intersection of Colegate Drive, North and East Corners
Spring Street at the intersection of Chestnut Street, North, South East, and West Corners
Spring Street at the intersection of Holly Street, West and South West Corners
Lancaster Street at the intersection of Pershing Road, North and East Corners

The following are areas that will have Curb & Gutter replaced as part of the 2021 Asphalt Resurfacing Project:

Hart Street between South 6th Street & South 7th Street, approximately 24’-0”, on the Northwest side of Hart Street.

Traffic will be maintained and motorists should travel the area with caution, obey traffic control signs and flagmen.
