Here are the top three stories in Marietta today:

  1. The Marietta College women's basketball team will be making its third NCAA Tournament appearance this weekend after the team received an at-large bid on Monday afternoon. The team will travel to Ithaca College in Ithaca, New York for the NCAA Division III Women's Basketball Tournament and will play in the first and second-round games on Mar. 3 and Mar 4.   2. The Blues, Jazz, and Folk Music Society of the Mid-Ohio Valley will be hosting its 30th Annual River City Blues on Mar. 17 and 18 at Marietta's Layfette Hotel.   3. Marietta Police Chief Katherine Warden outlined her department's plans to use $186,000 from the American Rescue Plan Act to fund six department needs. The projects include an updated communication system, cellphone analyzing equipment, updated and new firearms, magnetic mounts and additional video storage for body cameras, and a UTV vehicle.
