Here are the top three stories in Marietta today:

  1. A trailer was totaled on the 800 block of Lang Farm Road by a fire, which was called in at 4:43 a.m. on Monday, May 22. By the time fire crews arrived at the scene, the trailer was completely ablaze, according to Warren Volunteer Fire Department Fire Chief Mark Wile. The trailer was undergoing renovations prior to the fire, but no one was living in it at the time – no one was injured, but it did take the Warren Volunteer and Oak Grove Volunteer Fire departments several hours to get the fire under control. 2. The Ohio River Sternwheel Festival Committee is organizing its 13th annual Memorial Run and Walk on May 27 at Muskingum Park in Marietta. The event includes a 5K race starting at 8:00 a.m., with registration open from 6:30 to 7:30 a.m. There will also be a free kids race for those under the age of 11 at 9:00 a.m. Participants can register online until May 26, with a cost of $20 in advance and $25 on race day, and the first 250 registrants will receive a T-shirt. The proceeds from the event will support the 47th Ohio River Sternwheel Festival scheduled for Sep. 8-10. (Zanesville Times Recorder)
  3. Habitat for Humanity of the Mid-Ohio Valley dedicated its 113th house on Sunday, May 21. Executive Director Alvin Philips said, "The Riddles have been trying to get a house for four years. Now, they will finally have one." The property the house was built on was donated by Lana Law, and local companies and organizations participated in its construction, including Senior Stitchers and the sorority Alpha Delta Kappa.
