Students from Wood County Technical Center's Electrical Technology program held a ribbon-cutting ceremony to inaugurate the opening of a new electric vehicle (EV) charging station at nearby West Virginia University at Parkersburg. The students, known as Amish Electric, were involved in the design and installation of the charging station, providing them with hands-on experience and preparing them for future careers in the electrical industry. The EV charging station, located near the Caperton Center on campus, is open to the public and may lead to the addition of more charging stations in the future as the popularity of electric vehicles grows in the area. Buckeye Hills Regional Council is conducting surveys in Monroe and Noble counties to gather feedback and ideas for improving transportation services in the communities. The goal is to update the Coordinated Transportation Plans based on the data collected and improve the public use of current transportation services. Paper and online versions of the surveys are available, and all submitted information is confidential. Buckeye Hills Regional Council is a council of governments dedicated to improving the lives of residents in Southeast Ohio and is actively involved in transportation planning and support for older adults in the region. The Marietta College Theatre and Dance Department is launching the Marietta College Summer Dance Intensive, a program designed for intermediate to advanced dancers aged 14 and above. The immersive weekend includes master classes, workshops, and discussions led by guest instructors and health care industry specialists. Participants will have the chance to enhance their dance training, network with professionals, and connect with dancers from different areas.
