Ruth T. Broughton

Ruth Tracey Broughton, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 19th, 2026, at her home in Marietta, Ohio, surrounded by her family. Born on March 31st, 1948, in Marietta, Ruth lived a life full of love, dedication, and service to her family and community.

Ruth was a proud graduate of Marietta High School and went on to earn her Bachelor's degree in Accounting from Marietta College. She dedicated her professional life to Broughton Foods, where she worked as a respected accountant. Her commitment to her work was matched only by her devotion to her family and her community.

Ruth was an active member of the Rotary Club of Marietta and enjoyed spending her free time golfing, crocheting, sewing, and cherishing moments with her family and close friends. Her warmth and kindness touched the lives of many, and she will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Ruth is survived by her loving husband, Lee Andrew Vyner, whom she married on May 22, 1997. She leaves behind three devoted daughters: Tracey Sollon (Dennis), Denise Ritchie (Paul), and Kristy Anderson (Brian). Ruth was a proud grandmother to seven grandchildren: Christen Heisey (Brian), Jacob Sollon, Kelsi Anderson, Derek Wheeler, Alex Anderson, Meghan Waite (Cody), and Brady Anderson, and a cherished great-grandmother to Harper Wheeler, Phoenix Wheeler, and Kaiden Waite.

She is also survived by her brother, George Broughton (Nancy), her sister, Mary Broughton, and her stepchildren: Scott Vyner (Angie), Robin Holden (Glen), and Gary Vyner (Danielle). Her step-grandchildren, Jacob Vyner, Andrew and Olivia Holden, Nathan Vyner, and Gabrielle Vyner, will also remember her fondly.

Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, Carl L. Broughton and Elizabeth Sugden Broughton, and her great-grandson, Blake Waite.

Ruth Tracey Broughton will be remembered for her unwavering love, her dedication to her family, and her generous spirit. Her legacy will live on in the hearts of those she touched.
