Anna Mae Brooker

Obituary

Anna Mae Mary (Schott) Brooker, of Marietta, Ohio, died at home January 31, 2024 on her 89th birthday surrounded by her loving family. She was born January 31, 1935 to Charles and Lenora Ullman Schott.

She graduated in 1952 as salutatorian from Harriettsville High School. She was married on February 14, 1956 to Edward Walter Brooker who preceded her in death on September 6, 1988. Anna Mae was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church and the Catholic Women’s Club. Her greatest enjoyment in life was spending time with her grandchildren, gardening, and working jigsaw puzzles. Her grandkids always looked forward to Grandma’s homemade noodles, pepperoni rolls, and blackberry cobbler.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; sisters Hazel Barker, Doris Toole, and Esther Hesson; and brothers Charles, Joe, Nick, Neil, and Jim Schott.

Funeral Liturgy with Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 3, 2024 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, in Churchtown, with the Revs. David Gaydosik and Dale Tornes concelebrating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be on Friday, from 3 to 8 p.m. at the MARIETTA CHAPEL OF CAWLEY & PEOPLES FUNERAL HOME, with the Rosary recited at 7:30 p.m.
