Betty C. Offenberger

Obituary

Betty C. Offenberger, 98, of Marietta, Ohio, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by her loving
family. She was born on September 21, 1926 in her family home in Fearing Township, Ohio, to the late
Joseph W. and Lavina Emma Willson Pfeiffer.
Betty was a member of the Basilica of St. Mary of the Assumption and the American Legion Auxiliary
in Marietta. She was a seamstress at Zide's Sport Shop for 30 years and several different organizations
through Community Action. Betty loved camping, sports, playing cards, cooking and BINGO.
She was survived by three children, Susan Long, Mike Offenberger (Mary) and Mark Offenberger
(Linda); grandchildren, Lenny, Michael, Mandy (Caleb), Mingo, Amanda, Nick, Missi, Trent, Crystal,
Gabe and Myria; great grandchildren, Evan, Paislee, Brentley, Michaela, Ava, Jeremiah, Shaun, Espn,
Ethan, Taylor, Klowe, Hanna, Nicholas, Marissa, Landon, Bobby, Shelby and Kevin; great great
grandchild, Khaleil; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Offenberger, whom she married on January 22, 1946;
two sons, Ron and Dave Offenberger; son in law, Charlie Long; siblings, Carlos, Ida, Ella, Della,
Raymond, Joseph, Clarence, Gilbert, Everett, Charlie, Nellie and Matilda.
Funeral Liturgy with Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, December 27, 2024 at the Basilica of St.
Mary of the Assumption. Burial will follow in New St. Mary's Cemetery. Visitation will be on Thursday
from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the MARIETTA CHAPEL OF CAWLEY & PEOPLES FUNERAL
HOME, with a Vigil Service held at 3 p.m.
