City Of Marietta Hydrant Flushing
Here are some of the hydrants that will be flushed in Marietta.

MARIETTA, OH — The City of Marietta Fire Department will start flushing hydrants in the attached areas. Flushing of the City's fire hydrants is necessary to purge our water mains of accumulated mineral deposits that have built up over a period of time. It also provides valuable information such as flow rates to fight fires and maintenance problems that we might not be aware of.

It will take a considerable amount of time to flush all the hydrants in our system. After the above section outlined is completed, we will move on to the next part of the system and notify our customers in advance in this same manner. The public is advised to be attentive while driving in the area being flushed for water on the roadway.

Customers are advised to watch for discolored water while using water for food preparation, laundry, or other water-sensitive processes.

After flushing is completed, customers who are experiencing brown (mineral deposits) or milky (trapped air) water, are asked to flush their cold water lines to flush the service line from the main to their point of use in-home or business. If problems persist call the Water Treatment Plant at 740-374-6864 for further assistance. We appreciate your cooperation in the matter.
