Crystal Burke Is Accused Of Having Sex With Minors
Crystal Burke, former Marietta Middle School basketball coach, is accused of having sex with multiple juveniles.

MARIETTA, OH — Former Marietta Middle School basketball coach, 41-year-old Crystal Burke, is facing a number of very serious charges. She’s accused of having sexual relations with a number of juveniles between the ages of 14-15. The Washington County Sheriff’s Department investigation into Burke started on Saturday.

The Sheriff’s department reports their investigation found that 8 months ago, Burke had provided five juveniles alcoholic beverages at her residence on Woodcrest Lane, in Marietta. The investigation alleges that she and three juveniles had sexual intercourse in her bedroom. Deputies also claim that she performed other sexual acts with the juveniles at various locations in the county. The investigation reports that all subjects interviewed confirmed the information.

The Sheriff’s Department stated that they interviewed Burke at her residence on April 11. They say she admitted to having sexual intercourse with the three juveniles in her bedroom and admitted to the sexual acts at public locations in Washington County and the City of Marietta.
Chief Deputy Mark Warden said the whole investigation began with an anonymous tip. “The investigators looked into it. Eventually, they made contact with several victims, and received statements from them.” His investigators spoke to Burke on Sunday. “They confronted her with the crimes that were committed. Those crimes were felonies of the third degree.” She was arrested yesterday on six counts.

Burke appeared in court this morning. She faces charges in connection with 4 different cases. On the first case, she faces 3 separate counts of corruption of a minor. Bond was set at $5,000 and she was issued a PR bond with the condition that she have no contact with Marietta Middle School. She also has to keep appointments with L&P for mental health and alcohol or drug assessment and report the findings to her attorney.
On the second case, she faces one count of corruption of a minor. She was issued a PR bond with the conditions of no alcohol or illegal drugs or entering premises that sell alcohol by the drink.
On the third case, she faces one count of corruption of a minor. Bond was set at $2,000.
On the fourth case, she faces one count of corruption of a minor. Bond was set at $2,000.
All of these cases are set for preliminary hearing on April 21 at 1 p.m.
As of press time she was still behind bars and had not posted the $9,000 bond.
Patch reached out to Superintendent of Marietta City Schools Will Hampton. He said that he didn't have much to comment on because this is an open investigation that deals with minors. Hampton said he hopes the media handles this matter sensitively because there are minors involved.
