Good day, neighbors! Christopher Schmitt here with a fresh edition of the Marietta Daily.

First, today's weather:

Showers and a heavier t-storm. High: 79 Low: 56.

Here are the top stories today in Marietta:

  1. Today is Election Day, and there are some hot primaries to be decided in Ohio, namely the Senate GOP primary. This race is a nail-biter, but J.D. Vance is in the lead for now. (NBC News)
  2. A man is dead after a head-on crash in Waterford. According to Ohio State Police, yesterday afternoon 23-year-old Cory Ball drove over the double yellow line and crashed into another driver. That driver was airlifted to the hospital, but Ball was pronounced dead at the scene.
  3. Ohio Governor Mike DeWine has signed an executive order to fund crisis pregnancy centers. Abortion advocates say these centers try to lure pregnant women in and dissuade them from terminating their pregnancy. Some suggest the timing on this is suspect, as he signed this days before a big primary.
