
George "Jerry" Reynolds, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 10th, 2026, at the age of 82. Born on February 22nd, 1944, in Marietta, Ohio, Jerry was a cherished resident of Cutler, Ohio, where he spent his life surrounded by family and friends.
Jerry was a dedicated and hardworking man, known for his career as a self-employed livestock dealer. Before embarking on this path, he honed his skills as a carpenter, a testament to his versatility and commitment to his work. His service in the Army National Guard was a source of pride, and he was an active member of several organizations, including the American Legion Post 64, BPOE 477, and Moose Lodge 1823.
Jerry's life was rich with love and laughter, often found playing cards or enjoying time with his family at the beach. He is survived by his devoted wife, Patricia Louise Brothers Reynolds of Cutler, OH. He leaves behind three children: Dallas Sullivan (Gary Nohr), Jolie Clark, and Allan Shumar (Pam), as well as seven grandchildren: Amanda Satterfield, Gregory Sullivan, Ryan Ebra, Tyler Ebra, Melanie Houghton, Tony Miller, and Joe Miller. His legacy continues through his eight great-grandchildren: Lake, Karter, Preston, Daymeon, Trevor, Alexander, Elijah, and Rowan.

Jerry is also survived by his brother, Rodney Reynolds (Mary), and many nieces and nephews. He was blessed with bonus grandchildren, Brandi Wittekind, Angie Coffield, and Billy Gartin, and shared a close friendship with Robert Cooper.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James Fred Reynolds and Rosa N Stanley Reynolds, two children, Ralph Shumar and Glenn Shumar, son-in-law, Kevin Ebra, and siblings, Marie Carpenter, Betty Richmond, Marlene Neville, and Jim Reynolds.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects during visitation at the Marietta Chapel of Cawley & Peoples Funeral Home in Marietta, Ohio, on Friday, June 12th, 2026, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm, and again on Saturday, June 13th, 2026, from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm. A funeral service will follow at 12:00 pm, officiated by Pastor Lynn Godwin. Jerry will be laid to rest in Gravel Bank Cemetery, with full military honors observed.
