Obituary

Geraldine Jeanine Cooper, age 84, of Laurelville, Ohio, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 4, 2024. Born in Marietta, Ohio on July 29th, 1940, she was the daughter of the late Gerald Leo Lynch and Helen Mae Lynch.

Geraldine is survived by her three children, Sheri Myers (Ron), Kristen Swain, Eric Swain (Jamie). Stepchildren - Donna Cooper, Kathy Cooper, David Cooper (Mary), Mindy Cooper (John), Daniell Cooper (Karen). Grandchildren, Jennifer McMillan (Fred), Joseph Gray (Tiffany), Michelle Carter, Haley Swain (Trent) Joshua Swain (Maddy), Kevin Senters, Brandon Senters, Noah Swain, Eliza Kay, Oshie Bichar, Jon Bichar, Nikki Nations (Brian), Amanda Cooper-Smith (Alan), Jojo Cooper (JC), Elizabeth Dotson (Ryan), Dan Cooper (Casey), Wes Cooper (Amanda) and many Great grandchildren. Siblings, Neil Lynch (Lola), Diana Dailey, Leo Lynch, Vanessa Lynch, and many nieces and nephews.

Geraldine was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Donald Eugene Cooper, two sons, William Joseph "Billy" Swain, Jr. and Michael Swain, and her sister, Joyce Redanauer.

She attended Vincent High School and worked at the Bureau of Public Debt in the Division of Accounts & Reconcilements. Geraldine was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother who enjoyed taking care of all her grandkids and dogs. She also loved traveling to and wintering in Florida, attending bluegrass festivals and Cincinnati Reds Baseball games.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, September 9, 2024, at the Barlow Chapel of Cawley & Peoples Funeral Home. Family will greet friends for two hours prior to services.
