
Mary Lou Binegar, 87, of Marietta, Ohio passed away on Sunday, January 14, 2024. She was born on June 17, 1936 to Francis and Alice Christy Miller.
She graduated in 1954 from St. Mary’s Catholic School. She was a proud member of the Basilica of St. Mary of the Assumption where she played the organ for six years, worked Church Bingos, and was a lifelong member of the Catholic Women’s Club. Mary was also a member of the American Legion Post 64 Auxiliary. She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren.
She is survived by her three daughters, Debbie Kern (Melvin), Janet Binegar, Judy Nohe; three grandchildren, Jeremy Kern, Tiffany Croft, and Lacey Nohe; sister Margaret McDermott; brothers Roger Miller (Jane) and John Miller (Cathy), and sister-in-law Jean Miller; and many nieces and nephews.

Mary is preceded in death by her husband, George Gale Binegar, whom she married on March 2, 1957, her brother Dick Miller, and brother-in-law Bill McDermott
Funeral Liturgy with Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 18, 2024 at the Basilica of St. Mary of Assumption, with the Rev. John Michael Campbell celebrating. Burial will follow at East Lawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be on Wednesday, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the Marietta Chapel of Cawley & Peoples Funeral Home, with a Vigil service at 3:00 p.m. Donations may be made to The Basilica of St. Mary of Assumption, 506 Fourth Street, Marietta, Ohio 45750 or Amedisys Hospice, 27855 OH-7, Marietta, OH 45750. The family would like to send a special thanks to the Amedisys Hospice team that cared for their mother, especially Dr. Dennis.
