Happy Monday, Marietta! Let's get you all caught up on what's happening locally to start today off on an informed note.


First, what the next three days of weather look like:

  • Monday: Rain and humid throughout the day. High: 84, Low: 67.
  • Tuesday: Rain throughout the day. High: 76, Low: 67.
  • Wednesday: Rain until evening. High: 73, Low: 65.

Here are the top stories in Marietta today:

  1. Marietta City Schools is implementing an indoor mask mandate. Superintendent Will Hampton says this will take effect on Tuesday. The numbers are mighty high for the rona in this district, he says when those numbers drop, talks can be had about changes. (WTAP)
  2. An Ohio couple is facing child endangerment charges in WV after they were pulled over. The Fayette County sheriff said a crash caused 3 kids and 2 adults to go to the hospital. The family was on their way to Florida, none of the kids were in proper restraints. One of the kids was ejected. Officials believe the adults took suboxone not prescribed to them. (WSAZ)
  3. Protesters in front of the Marietta Walmart voiced concern over a number of issues. (WTAP)
  4. Some are concerned over Ohio's redistricting plans. (WOUB)
  5. Tuesday will be Overdose Awareness Day in Washington County. (Marietta Patch)
