Happy Friday, people of Marietta! Here's everything you need to know going on in Marietta today.


First, the next three days of weather:

  • Friday: Humid throughout the day. High: 87 Low: 62.
  • Saturday: Humid and partly cloudy throughout the day. High: 88 Low: 63.
  • Sunday: Mostly sunny and humid. High: 82 Low: 62.

Cheapest gas in town:

  • Gas prices have gone up considerably and the accurate numbers aren't in currently on gasbuddy.com. From what I've seen gas prices around town are $3.15, this will probably vary a bit, but generally, that's the price. This will be updated soon.

  1. Memorial Health System is in a crisis due to high COVID cases. (WTAP)
  2. There were no deaths after a massive "inmate disturbance" at the Nelsonville Jail. Apparently it was a huge deal where stun grenades and tear gas had to be deployed. But no officers or inmates were injured. (WBNS)
  3. Commissioner Charlie Schilling has issued a public statement about the proposed sewer deal with Marietta that would settle ongoing litigation. (Marietta Patch)
  4. On Monday there will be a "Meet the candidates" panel discussion for those running for the school board. It will be held at the Graham Auditorium at 6:30 p.m. (Marietta Patch)
  5. The Ohio Redistricting Committee approved the maps this week. It was approved on a party-line vote of 5-2. Democrats are saying that Republicans gerrymandered the districts in their favor. (Statehouse News)
