Mildred Margaret Elliott Dawson, 96, of Marietta, died at Marietta Memorial Hospital on January 8, 2023. She was born on June 10, 1927 in Marietta to John E. and Martha A. Dalrymple Cooper.
Mildred graduated from Marietta High School in 1945. In 1947, she married William D. Elliott.
They were married 46 years. She enjoyed spending time with her family and traveling to Florida. William and her enjoyed boating and water sports. Following William’s death in 1993, Mildred married Harold Dawson of Grove City, Ohio in 2002. They spent winters in Florida playing golf.

Mildred is survived by her children, Joyce (Elliott) Braman of Williamstown, WV, John E. of Marietta, OH; three grandchildren, Ken Elliott of St. Petersburg, FL, Kristi Riley of Dayton, OH, and Kirk Braman of Vienna, WV.; two great-grandchildren, Azaliyah Braman and Sofie Braman of Vienna, WV.; and sibling Freda H. of Marietta, OH.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, William D. Elliott, on September 9, 1993, and her second husband, Harold Dawson, on September 1, 2014; her parents; and nine siblings, Pearle, Leonard, Roy, Wilbert, and Ray Cooper, Alberta Carpenter, Florence Cooper, Hazel Lane, and Virginia Huck.

There will not be any services or visitation at this time and burial will be held at Tunnel cemetery in Marietta, next to her husband.
