Primary Candidates For Positions In Marietta/Belpre
The May 4 primary election in Washington County is coming up quick. Here are some of the candidates running.

MARIETTA, OH — The May 4 primary election is right around the corner. Here are some of the candidates you'll see on the ballot. NOTE, most of these races are not contested, however, some of these seats could be in the November 2 general election. There are a number of independent candidates who election officials say still have a couple of weeks to file their papers to get onto the ballot for the general election.

Larry Martin is going to be running against Donna Miller for the Republican spot on the ticket for Belpre City Council.
Alison Holland is going to be running against Tina Noland for the Republican spot on the ticket for Belpre City Auditor.

Here are the uncontested races:
Jacqulyn Cassady is the only candidate to file for the Republican spot on the ticket for Belpre City Treasurer.
Floyd Millhone is the only candidate to file for the Republican spot on the ticket for Belpre City 1st Ward.
John McClead is the only candidate to file for the Republican spot on the ticket for Belpre City 2nd Ward.
Dennis Lyndsay is the only candidate to file for the Republican spot on the ticket for Belpre City 3rd Ward.
David Ferguson is one of two Republican candidates to file for a spot on the ticket for Belpre Council at Large. There can be three at large positions on the Belpre City Council.
John Ruth is one of two Republican candidates to file for a spot on the ticket for Belpre Council at Large. There can be three at large positions on the Belpre City Council.
Susan Vessels is the only candidate to file for the Republican spot on the ticket for Marietta Council President.
Cathy Harper is the only candidate to file for the Republican spot on the ticket for Marietta City Treasurer.
Michael Scales is the only candidate to file for the Democrat spot on the ticket for Marietta City 1st Ward.
Bret Allphin is the only candidate to file for the Democrat spot on the ticket for Marietta City 2nd Ward.
Christopher Pfeiffer is the only candidate to file for the Republican spot on the ticket for Marietta City 2nd Ward.
William Gossett is the only candidate to file for the Republican spot on the ticket for Marietta City 3rd Ward.
Geoff Schenkel is the only candidate to file for the Democrat spot on the ticket for Marietta City 4th Ward.
Susan Boyer is one of two Democratic candidates to file for a spot on the ticket for Marietta Council at Large. There can be three at large positions on the Marietta City Council.
William Farnsworth is one of two Democratic candidates to file for a spot on the ticket for Marietta Council at Large. There can be three at large positions on the Marietta City Council.
Cassidi Shoaf is the only Republican candidate to file for a spot on the ticket for Marietta Council at Large. There can be three at large positions on the Marietta City Council.
