Marietta historical tidbit of the day:
Between WWII and 1960, Marietta almost doubled in size, due to annexations. The population appeared to grow a lot in that time period, but that was due to the annexations. Without those, Marietta would have likely shown a decrease in population. During this time Washington County grew by close to 20%. This is because Belpre was on the come up during the 50s.

- A Marietta rapist is sentenced to 25-years in prison. Richard Decker Jr. was sentenced this week for raping nine girls from 1991-2012. He's 63-years-old and will be registered as a Tier III sex offender if he ever makes it out of prison. (The Marietta Times)
