Obituary

Ronnie Lee Johnson, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 24, 2026, at the age of 85. He was born on April 17, 1941, in Caldwell, Ohio to Earl and Daisy Myrtle Johnson. Ronnie was a resident of Marietta, Ohio, where he spent the majority of his life.

Ronnie was a proud graduate of Caldwell High School, Class of 1959. He dedicated his professional life to sales, working for Archer Auto Parts, where he was known for his dedication and integrity. His commitment to service extended beyond his career, as he also served in the Ohio National Guard, demonstrating his love for his country.

A man of many talents and interests, Ronnie was a devoted member of the Pinehurst Christian Church and the Lowell Masonic Lodge #436 in Lowell, Ohio. He found joy in working with his hands, whether it was working in the yard, antiquing, refinishing furniture, or chair caning. His passion for these activities was matched only by the love he had for his family. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him, but his legacy of love, kindness, and craftsmanship will live on in the hearts of those he touched.

Ronnie is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Dianne Johnson, whom he married on April 13, 1974. He leaves behind his cherished children, Amy (Jeffery) Lapp and David (Erica) Johnson, and his adored grandchildren, Theodore James "TJ" and Dorothy Ann Johnson. Ronnie is also survived by his brother, Darl Johnson.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his brothers, Charles and James Johnson.

A funeral service will be held at the MARIETTA CHAPEL OF CAWLEY & PEOPLES FUNERAL HOMES in Marietta, Ohio on Thursday, April 30, 2026 at 12:00 pm. with Minister Mark Wilmoth officiating and a graveside service to follow at Tunnel Cemetery in Marietta, Ohio. Family and friends are invited to celebrate Ronnie's life at the visitation that will be held for two hours prior to the funeral service from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to DaVita Dialysis, 1019 Pike St, Marietta, OH 45750, in Ronnie's memory.
