Sandra L. Walsh

Obituary

Sandra Lee Walsh peacefully left this world on July 11, 2024, to be reunited with the love of her life Bernard Philip Walsh, who passed on January 19, 2024. She was born July 5, 1946, in Marietta, Ohio, to the late Kenna and Virginia Reynolds. She came home to three big sisters, Elizabeth, Lucy, and Marilyn, who shared a fond childhood twirling batons, dancing, and climbing trees on Warren Street.

Sandra and Bernard were married in Garrett County, Maryland in 1967, and enjoyed 56 years together on the Walsh family land near Fleming. They had two children, James Patrick Walsh, and Holly Lynn (Chris) Ladeaux and many grandchildren.

Sandra was a very artistic soul, who could paint anything with exquisite detail. She worked at Fenton Art Glass and then had her own craft shop. She was a fantastic cook and was known for her Bourbon Balls at the neighborhood Christmas Gathering. She loved decorating for the holidays and was the happiest with turkey and the fixings in the oven for Christmas.

Those remaining to cherish memories of Sandra are her children; grandchildren; sister, Marilyn Boyer; brother-in-law, Chuck Rice; niece, Beverly Rodio; and nephew, Charles Kenna Rice. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, sisters Elizabeth (Anne) DeLong, Lucy Rice, and nephew Michael (Skipper) Rodio.

As per her wishes she will be cremated and her ashes mingled with Bernard’s, then spread together on the family land. A memorial service will be held at a later date. The family wishes to thank the staff at Harmar Place for the care she received while a resident.
