Here are the top stories today in Marietta:
- The Ohio School Safety Center is warning of a TikTok challenge called "Slap a Teacher." This is an October challenge, and educators are worried this could cause some real problems in Ohio schools. (WXIX)
- COVID-19 numbers are up in Washington County. The latest numbers are in and it appears that Cutler, Lowell, Macksburg, New Matamoras, Newport and Stockport are currently hot spots. (Marietta Patch)
- Ohio is trying to roll out an incentive program to encourage parents to get children as young as 5-years-old vaccinated for COVID-19. It should be noted the FDA hasn't approved the COVID-19 vaccine to be used on kids 5-11. (Statehouse News Bureau)
- Lowell has gotten a $250,000 grant from the Appalachian Regional Council for sewer upgrades. (Marietta Times)
- Southeast Ohio's U.S. Congressman Bill Johnson is warning that the proposed $4.3 trillion-dollar budget will cost everyone. (Marietta Patch)
