Thank You Marietta For 500 Newsletter Subscribers
This is a thank you letter to each and every person around here who's elected to get our daily newsletter.

MARIETTA, OH — I'm really happy to announce that to date we have more than 500 daily newsletter subscribers. I put a lot of work into making sure that there's an up-to-date and relevant newsletter that goes out each morning, so I'm extremely grateful that so many Mariettans are reading it.

As you know I just started reporting here about three months ago. Everyone has been extremely welcoming to me. I may be from the area, but I'd been gone for a while. The entire Marietta City Council has gone out of their way to help me when I've needed it. The same goes for the Washington County Commissioners. The mayor has given me more time than I'm sure I deserve. Washington County Chief Deputy Mark Warden, Marietta Police Captian Aaron Nedeff, and Marian Forshey have all jumped through hoops to help me out. There really are so many people working and living in Marietta who care about this community. It's really something.

My philosophy is to write news that serves the community, and the more local it can be the better. I don't really want to write national or state news, I did for years, and frankly, I was miserable. I really want to keep writing for this community and the people in it. I believe the community we live in is the one that really matters. Marietta isn't that big, so like it or not, we all have a big impact here. What happens in Columbus or Washington D.C. has a very small impact on our lives compared to the impact of Marietta City Hall or the Washington County Board of Commissioners.
So I want to thank everyone who's sent me a news tip or asked me a question. I want to thank anyone who's shared a story or put an event on our community calendar. I'll keep doing my best to keep writing relevant articles that aren't too boring. I just ask one favor, feedback. If you have any ideas for improvement please let me know. If you have a problem with my writing or my coverage let me have it! I'm a big boy and I can take it.
