People gathered at St. Paschal Baylon Roman Catholic Church as they have every September to remember the events of 9/11 and to pray for the future.
Deacon Joe Bourgeois, the Rev. William Fickle and others prayed for peace and healing to be brought to our world, and so that wars and strife cease.
Music director Julie Parotta was joined by Michelle and Chris Ianni, and the Rev. John Thomas Lane in music and song. A Taize song, Peace is Flowing Like a River, had the calming refrain of "Nothing can trouble, nothing can frighten."

Seventh- and eighth-grade students at made candles representing all 50 states. These candles were carried out and placed around the flag as further prayers for peace and good will were offered on a moonlit night.
The ceremony concluded with "America the Beautiful" and the Pledge of Allegiance.
