Anthony Rocco Hair Salon is a Sister Act
Toni and Tina run Highland Heights business named after their father.

Sisters Toni Rassi, 32, and Tina Pietrondi, 27, know how to share when it comes to responsibilities at the Highland Heights hair salon they co-own, .
“I just come in to manage my clients and inventory, and leave the rest for Tina,” Rassi said. For Pietrondi, that means managing and promoting the salon, including its presence on Facebook.
The division of labor gives Rassi more time with her three children, ages 8, 3 and 2. “It’s getting easier. We’re almost out of diapers,” she said, smiling. “He’s fighting me.”

Rassi always knew what she wanted to do. “I love the beauty business,” she said. She earned her cosmetology training at Mayfield High School, class of ’97, and went to work upon earning her license.
Her sister, however, had a different career path in mind. Pietrondi earned a bachelor’s degree in broadcast journalism and climatology at Kent State University, and became a certified meteorologist at Mississippi State University. She left her previous job as a fill-in meteorologist at WFMJ-TV in Youngstown in August 2011, and is undecided about returning to broadcasting.

“Right now it’s important to stay here and help Toni,” Pietrondi said.
But she also cares about community service. A breast cancer fundraiser she organized at the salon for Lee National Denim Day raised $765 for research into less toxic breast cancer treatments and testing for earlier detection. A pair of jeans signed by stylists and clients still hangs on the wall from the Oct. 7 event.
The full-service salon, at 6123 Highland Road, provides Perfection by Pravana Smooth Out for coarse curly hair, Shellac 14-day nail polish, as well as standard salon services. Hours are 9 a.m.-7 p.m. Tuesday and Thursday; 9 a.m.-8 p.m. Wednesday; 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Friday, and 8 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday.
