Bank Robbed In Richmond Heights By Armed Suspects

The FBI and local law enforcement are asking the public for help identifying the three men responsible.

RICHMOND HEIGHTS, OH — Three men robbed an Ohio Savings Bank in Richmond Heights on Tuesday. The FBI is asking the public for help identifying and locating the suspects. Both men are considered armed and dangerous.

The robbery took place in the mid-afternoon, at about 2:20 p.m. That's when the two suspects came into the bank at 720 Richmond Road. One of the men was brandishing a handgun.

One of the suspects then jumped the teller counter and demanded money. The tellers handed over cash and the suspect put the money into a bag.

The suspects fled the bank and got into a stolen black Chevy Cruz. The FBI says a third, unknown suspect was driving that vehicle. The car has since been recovered by police.

Both suspects were young, thin black men. They both stood about five foot five or five foot seven inches tall. The suspect that jumped the counter wore a dark hoodie, gloves and white tennis shoes. The other suspect stayed in the lobby area, pointing his handgun at employees and customers and yelling at them to stay on the ground. He wore dark clothing and his face was covered, possibly by a mask. He wore green gloves.

Law enforcement is asking the public for help identifying these suspects. Tips can remain anonymous and can be provided to the Cleveland Division of the FBI or the Richmond Heights Police Department. Reward money is available for information leading to the successful identification and prosecution of the individuals responsible.
