Bites Nearby: Scrambler Marie's

Serving breakfast, brunch and lunch

How do you pick a restaurant? Do you look for a parking lot full of cars?, then turn away because it looks too crowded? Drive by restaurant lots that are empty figuring that if no one else wants to eat there why should you?

Save some gas, save the environment, save some money and most of all save some time and aggravation. Use Hillcrest Patch to get an insiders view. Then once you’ve been there let others know by posting your comments.

Scrambler Marie's, located across from Eastgate, offers good food for breakfast and lunch, value and easy access. The area surrounding the SOM Center and Mayfield Road intersection is busy, so seeing a dedicated parking lot might bring you in the first time, or if it's summertime, then the outdoor patio might draw you.

Entering, you won’t be surprised to find a clean and cheery atmosphere serving a full menu of breakfast, brunch and lunch from 6:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. True to the name you will find all kinds of scrambled eggs, but there are many other egg options such as skillets ($8), wraps ($8) and Benedicts ($8). Lunch and brunch “Burgers, Bird and Sandwiches” options include other favorites such as salads ($7), filled crepes ($7.50) and Paninis ($8).

Special dietary needs are taken into consideration with egg white omelets, smaller portions for a reduced price and a kids menu. This is the only location in the area. Although this small regional chain has grown, it  has stayed true to its roots. Deby Marie, the founder's wife, can still be seen working in the original Toledo store.

Scrambler Marie's offers home cooking to those who might be otherwise tempted to skip the most important meal of  the day. You don’t have to be part of their family to ask for a “Phil” or a “Molly Marie."
